Position: Shelter Attendant - 2nd Shift (4p-12a)

The Emergency Shelter Attendant will provide quality, respectful, courteous service to all guests in the shelter. An overview of responsibilities includes but not limited to, maintaining a safe, clean environment, supporting, and assisting guests, and documenting safety and/or security concerns.

Hiring for 2nd Shift (4p-12a)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Complete sign indocumentationandotherrecord keeping for the shelterguestsis completed.
  • Log all attendance records for HMIS and grant purposes.
  • Assistin the preparation/coordination of themeals for guests.
  • Assistinmaintainingthe safety and security of guests, and shelter property, and report concerns to supervisor on duty.
  • Assist guests with accessing resources, such as clean laundry, linens, hygiene kits, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with the emergency shelter procedure manual.
  • Document incidents accurately, timelyand notifying supervisor on-duty.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the shelter by performing tasks outlined on thedailychecklists.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings andtrainingsassignedby supervisor.
  • Staying awake and attentive to shelter guests and operations all hours of the shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Ability to work with diverse cultures andpersonsof varied socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability tomaintaincalm demeanor in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • One (1) yr. experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness. (preferred)
  • CPR Certification, Crisis Intervention training, and Benefit Bank training(preferred).
  • Physical Requirements
  • Must be able toliftupto 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for 4-8 hours at a time.
  • Passed pre-employment screenings.
