Furthermore, the Welder is expected to maintain and safely operate all welding and fabrication equipment while adhering strictly to all company safety protocols and contributing to a clean, organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities Welding & Fabrication:
Perform high-quality welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum components, primarily using TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) and MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding) processes.
Read, interpret, and accurately execute work based on blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols.
Fabricate, assemble, and modify metal parts for machine frames, process piping, and structural supports of the glove manufacturing equipment.
Quality & Inspection:
Inspect finished welds to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards (e.g., penetration, bead width, smoothness).Utilize measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, squares) to ensure parts are dimensionally correct before and after welding.
Grind, cut, and finish metal surfaces as required for smooth assembly and aesthetic appearance.
Maintenance & Safety:
Operate and maintain welding equipment, cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools in a safe and proper manner.
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
Participate in general shop housekeeping and preventative maintenance of equipment.
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).Current or previous Welding Certification (e.g., AWS D1.1, D1.2, or similar relevant certification).
Experience:
Proven experience welding thin-gauge stainless steel is a major asset, given the cleanroom requirements of medical/glove machinery.
Skills:
Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding.
Ability to read and comprehend complex engineering drawings, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).Strong mathematical and analytical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)
Experience with pipe fitting or orbital welding.
Familiarity with machinery used in cleanroom environments or medical device manufacturing.
Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
