The Nurse Practitioner practices in the Rehab & Extended Care Integrated Clinical Community (REC ICC) on the Community Living Centers at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. The Nurse Practitioner is a skilled health care provider who utilizes critical judgment in the performance of comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and the prescribing of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease.

Ohio has historical and recreational opportunities for people of all ages. There are five state parks within a 30-minute drive of the city. Those who have a love for the outdoors can enjoy a multitude of biking and hiking paths, including one atop our levee alongside the Scioto River. Sports Enthusiasts can take in a game with the Chillicothe Paints baseball team - members of the top collegiate wooden bat league in the country!

Chillicothe is also home to the 158-year-old Majestic Theatre which has hosted many celebrity guests. That is not all Chillicothe, Ohio has to offer either!

The Chillicothe, Ohio VA Medical Center provides primary care and specialty health services, including mental health services, spinal cord injury treatment, women's health care, nutrition counseling, social work, and more.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice.

* Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management.

* Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

* Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies.

* Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.

* Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services.

* Provides education to patients and their families.

* Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards

Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)

Retirement:
Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
