• Willingness to work and evidence of successful nursing experience
• Minimum of a high school diploma along with one of the following licensures: LPN or RN
• Valid Driver's License
• Must have evidence of current CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse and Neglect Certification, or ability to obtain
• Experience working with children and adolescents preferred
• Experience using technology as a means of record keeping and communication
• Demonstrates viable leadership/organizational skills
• Ability to communicate with students, staff, and general public
• Demonstrates high degree of integrity, confidentiality, and honesty
• Serve as a role model to students, staff, parents, and community

The Nurse's Aide, under the supervision of the CCSD Nurse and the school administration, provides school health services to students, staff and school visitors. The School Nurse Assistant collaborates with the district staff to implement the health and wellness policies and procedures set forth by the board of education for the students of the Chillicothe City School District.

• Provides first aid and emergency care to students, school staff and visitors in accordance with local and state policies and procedures.
• Carries out delegated nursing tasks for students and staff.
• Carries out health services established by the district board of education.
• Administers medication to students in accordance with the district policies and procedures.
• Provides information and education, as necessary, to parents and staff regarding the health of a child, bed bugs, lice, immunizations, etc.
• Makes referrals, as necessary or directed by supervisor(s), to local medical and social services agencies to meet the needs of students.
• Collaborates with district school nurse to provide health and wellness education to students and staff.
• Maintains appropriate student health records.
• Communicates appropriate medical information in a timely manner to appropriate school personnel, families, and other pertinent medical professionals.
• Maintains confidentiality of all student and staff medical and mental health records.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the school nurse and school administrator.

• Organize, coordinate and make recommendations for all components of the testing program including organization, distribution, collection, interpretation, and publishing of results to staff, students and parents
• Maintain accurate, complete and current records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
• Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with teachers, students, and parents concerning all aspects of the health and wellness of our students
• Establish and maintain cooperative relations with other members of the staff
• Participate on committees and in other school activities, as needed
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities; be responsible for all school property and equipment entrusted to them in this position
• Perform such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the School Nurse
