Cake Decorator

Position Summary

As a Cake Decorator you will drive member service in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

• Collaborate as a Team Member with cross-functional teams, educate associates on tools, tasks, and resources, communicate and develop interpersonal skills for customer service, remain flexible to business needs, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage.
• Plan bakery productions to ensure consistency in quality and accuracy of decorative designs; follow recipe measurement instructions; work with a variety of products to create decorative flowers and lettering; ensure adherence to food-safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold-chain compliance, and inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment; and demonstrate understanding of product and layout execution.
• Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology for real-time production, merchandise ordering, training, and quality decisions; adapt to new tools and encourage adoption.
• Drive bakery area performance, ensure quality and date-control standards, eliminate waste, prepare for seasonal events that impact volume, identify member needs, assist members with purchasing decisions, and resolve member issues and concerns.
• Act as a Brand Advocate by valuing the member’s experience, modeling high-quality service and products, interacting with associates to understand roadblocks, and assisting in training; inspire a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented style.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, implement related action plans, use the Open Door Policy, and apply these in executing business processes.
• Complete work assignments and priorities using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; communicate progress and information; recommend improvement opportunities; and adapt to change.

Live Better U is a company-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities. The hourly wage range for this position is $20.00 to $28.00.

• The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation may include premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, based on schedule, facility, season, or work performed. Multiple premiums may apply.

• Six months’ experience in a fresh production area.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must acknowledge that the position requires successful completion of all job trainings and assessments within prescribed time frames.

• Cake decorating experience.
