performs all position welding on various sizes, shapes and structures, requiring broad knowledge of welding technology.

job duties

• selects welding procedures in accordance with type of work and materials involved.
• welds on all types of metals and alloys in various sizes, shapes and on diversified assemblies, products or structures.
• produces welds subject to xray analysis, magnaflux inspection, dye check and/or gas tight pressure or other tests.
• may set up, adjust and operate a variety of machine tools requiring close tolerance work; inspect own work for conformance with specifications, using gauges, templates or other measuring devices.
• may perform certified welds in all areas of plant.
• bid winner must pass welder qualification testing
• performs other related duties as assigned.
• attendance is an essential function of any position.

• must pass welder qualification testing
• must possess an accredited welding certificate
• high school diploma or ged supplemented by appropriate technical school training
• threefive years related experience.

applicants will not be given a weld test to determine qualification unless they are able to provide one of the following:

1) certificate of completion from technical school

2) welding certificate

3) verification of 3-5 years of weld experience (letter from previous employer stating weld experience)
