2026 Summer Laborer (Multiple Counties)

The Ohio Department of Transportation, District 9, is now accepting applications for Summer Laborers for the following counties:
Adams, Brown, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross & Scioto. These are seasonal temporary positions with an anticipated start date of May 4, 2026, and end date of September 4, 2026. There are multiple positions; your application will be considered for all positions.

• Flag/traffic control for highway maintenance
• Drive pickup truck to set out/pick up signs & follow mowing crew
• Roadside litter pickup, clean &/or wash vehicles & equipment
• Clean/hose down garage areas
• Use weed eater to trim around buildings, fences, etc.
• Help clean up roadsides when work crews are cutting brush/tree trimming
• Answer phone &/or radio when clerk is unavailable

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division. (Per Section 124.11 (B)(2) of Revised Code, the classification is unskilled labor and exempt from written examination.)
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
