Automotive Driver (Part-Time) (Chillicothe, OH)

With the “Busy Season” for used vehicle sales here, the Nourse Chillicothe Automall is looking for reliable, part-time employees to add to our pool of available drivers. The primary function of this position will be transporting company vehicles to and from various automotive auctions and/or dealerships. We have a local team and a traveling team. The traveling team will frequently make out-of-state pick-ups and drop-offs to many of Ohio’s bordering states.

• Drivers will take direction from their manager, who is responsible for coordinating the pickup and delivery of all vehicles.
• Daily objectives will be announced to drivers as soon as they are known, typically one day in advance.
• It will be necessary for all drivers to be available for 3 or more days per week to drive. (Monday-Friday)
• Drivers may not work more than 32 hours per payroll week (Wednesday-Tuesday) and are considered part time
  .
• All drivers are required to work at least one Friday per month.
• All drivers must complete a physical examination twice per year, deeming them fit-to-drive.
• All time off for vacation must be made to the driver manager two or more weeks before the vacation is planned.
• Paidtime off is not available to part time employees

MUST HAVE a clean driving record and be insurable by our corporate insurance underwriter.

• Must be insurable and possess a valid, insurable Driver’s License
• Must have a flexible schedule (able to work late hours if needed, and possible 12-hour shifts)
• Ability to drive vehicle with standard and automatic transmissions.
• Operate all vehicles in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures, traffic laws and regulations.
• Observe rules of the road and demonstrate courtesy and defensive driving techniques.
• Vision abilities required. Close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Constantly required to enter and exit vehicles
• Strong communication skills in order to interact effectively with dealership personnel and follow directions precisely.
