We’re looking for a dynamic and professional Receptionist to be the welcoming face and voice for Skowkale First Nation. In this role, you will greet visitors with warmth, manage incoming calls, and keep our front desk running smoothly and efficiently. You will also handle mail and office supplies, support administrative tasks, and collaborate with multiple departments to help keep our operations on track.

- Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and provide general information.
- Manage the front desk area, ensuring it is neat and organized at all times.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
- Maintain and coordinate office supplies inventory for all departments, including monitoring stock levels and re‑ordering supplies when necessary.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing and photocopying.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
- Ensure the security of the premises by following protocols for visitor check‑ins.
- Handle inquiries, concerns, and requests from visitors or clients with professionalism and efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform other related duties as required or requested.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in an office or administrative role working with First Nation communities or equivalent experience.
- Post‑secondary education in business, governance or a similar field is an asset.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Knowledge of First Nation culture and working with First Nations and citizens.
- A professional and approachable demeanor.
- Exceptional verbal and written command of English.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to forge strong relationships with a variety of employees, managers, partners, vendors, and partners.
- Ability to exercise diplomacy, tact and good judgment.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of documents, records and information.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines, with exceptional time‑management skills.
- Computer skills, including fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Working in a shared office space.
- Multi‑tasking and deadlines can be expected.
- Engaging with SAY members and citizens.
- Interacting with outside contractors, and the general public.
- Because we work with a variety of stakeholders and communities, we require that all employees be vaccinated.
