The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Vice President of Sales in the region, the Associate Vice President of Operations for our South BC Region is responsible for leading retail branch operations across the Fraser Valley.
This role is responsible for ensuring regional operations meet or exceed HUB's financial, operational, and staffing goals while delivering an industry-leading client experience. The ideal candidate brings a passion for client service, a proven drive for sales results, and demonstrates success in coaching leaders and developing teams. Success in this role requires strong business and financial acumen, proactive community engagement, and a mindset of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Meet financial P&L objectives: Develop budgets, manage compensation, and control operating expenses.
Drive sales results:Execute business plans for revenue growth, new business generation, cross-sell opportunities, and client retention.
Lead branch operations: Ensure team leaders and managers drive client service excellence and revenue results through effective recruitment and staffing, embedded training support and product knowledge development, and championing quality standards.
Develop talent: Mentor and coach leaders, build succession plans, and drive employee engagement and retention leveraging best practices in human resource management.
Maintain compliance:Ensure branch operations across the region adhere to regulatory requirements and audit standards.
Qualifications
Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
Experience managing operational teams, multi-branch or multi-site oversight.
10 years of insurance experience with at least 4 years of leadership experience required.
Level 2 Insurance License or greater.
Demonstrated success in driving sales results as well as operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Familiarity with key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and drive operational performance.
Understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting.
Ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Proficiency in communication and conflict resolution.
Experience in developing and implementing customer-centric operational strategies.
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary Expectations –
The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 plus bonus and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
