Joint Force Tactical is a proudly Canadian, veteran-owned company serving law enforcement, fire services, military, corrections, emergency services, and government agencies across Canada.

From our headquarters in Chilliwack, BC, we provide uniforms, equipment, duty gear, tactical solutions, customization services, and procurement support to public safety agencies nationwide.

With a team of approximately 40 employees, we are seeking a General Manager / Chief Operating Officer to help lead the next stage of our growth and organizational development.

This role is designed for an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and enjoys building systems, developing people, driving accountability, and turning strategy into results.

About the Role

The General Manager / Chief Operating Officer will work directly with ownership and serve as the senior operational leader of the organization.

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring departments are aligned, improving organizational performance, developing leaders, and helping drive profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Accountability
    • Lead the day-to-day operations of the company.
    • Provide leadership and support to department managers.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
    • Facilitate leadership meetings and ensure execution of company priorities.
    • Develop and monitor company-wide Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Operational Excellence
    • Improve operational efficiency across all departments.
    • Develop and implement systems, processes, and workflows that support growth.
    • Identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
    • Support inventory management, purchasing, warehousing, logistics, and fulfillment operations.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Financial & Business Performance
    • Work alongside ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
    • Monitor profitability, operating expenses, inventory levels, and cash flow.
    • Support initiatives that improve efficiency and financial performance.

      Ensure operational decisions align with company goals and objectives.
  • Strategic Growth
    • Lead and support major internal projects and initiatives.
    • Assist with technology implementation and business process improvements.
    • Support expansion opportunities, strategic partnerships, and growth initiatives.
    • Help create the structure and systems necessary for long-term success.
Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Experience managing multiple departments within a growing organization.
  • Robust operational, financial, and business management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and improve performance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hand‑on execution.

Preferred

  • Experience in retail, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, public safety, government procurement, or related industries.
  • Experience leading teams of 25-100 employees.
  • Experience with in an inventory-intensive business environment.
  • Experience implementing operational systems, performance metrics, and process improvements.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary of $120,000 - $140,000 based on experience.
