As the Assistant Manager of Shelter Operations, you will ensure that a 42-bed shelter and adjacent supportive housing units operate smoothly and compliant with BC Housing standards.
Your role includes supervising unionized staff, managing effective crisis responses, and fostering collaboration between teams. You will also support the recruitment and training of new staff, enhancing overall team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate daily operations of shelter and supportive housing
• Maintain compliance with BC Housing standards
• Supervise and coach union staff
• Lead incident response and crisis management
• Ensure a safe, inclusive environment for all clients
Requirements:
• University degree or equivalent relevant experience
• Three years in managing shelter or supportive housing
• Experience with unionized teams is preferred
• Understanding of BC Housing regulations
• Clear criminal records check and health screenings
