Commercial Account Executive – HUB International

Overview

HUB International is a leading North American insurance brokerage that offers a full suite of risk‑management, insurance, employee benefits, retirement and wealth‑management solutions. The Commercial Account Executive will promote these products, build strong client relationships, and drive new business and renewal sales.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage customer expectations and answer telephone inquiries regarding coverage.
  • Communicate with company personnel regarding client needs and/or problems.
  • Understand agency and company rating systems, as well as relevant websites.
  • Negotiate with underwriters from other insurance companies on rates and coverage.
  • Follow up on requested changes and renewals with insurance companies.
  • Review and analyze claims and discuss outcomes with clients.
  • Explain coverage details to clients.
  • Manage accounts receivable follow‑up.
  • Prepare and deliver new business and renewal sales presentations.
  • Close deals, including upselling and cross‑selling opportunities.
  • Prospect for new business (typical premium $20,000 to $100,000).
  • Prepare marketing submissions, proposals, and summaries of insurance.
  • Verify the accuracy of policies, endorsements, and audits received from insurers.
  • Issue certificates of insurance and motor vehicle liability slips.
  • Review payments and perform other miscellaneous duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Level2 General Insurance license required.
  • 2–5years of relevant commercial insurance sales experience.
  • Driven to achieve sales results and meet or exceed targets.
  • Proven ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial insurance products and markets.
  • Strong commitment to personal growth and development.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Up to 25% travel required.

  • Variable compensation structure: discretionary draw plus commission.
