Mechanic Shop Hand - Year Round

As a part of our Mechanical team, the Shop Hand supports the day-to-day operations of our mechanical shop. This role focuses on assisting our Heavy Duty Mechanics with routine tasks, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and helping ensure the safe operation of our vehicle and equipment fleet. This is an ideal position for someone eager to learn more about equipment maintenance while contributing to resort operations.

• Assist mechanics with basic maintenance tasks and repairs
• Clean and organize shop space, tools, and equipment
• Run parts and tools as requested by the mechanic team
• Help prepare vehicles and equipment for service
• Maintain shop cleanliness including floors, workbenches, and tool storage
• Support fluid checks, tire inflation, and simple mechanical prep work
• Assist with snow removal around shop entrances and access points
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
• Maintain a professional and respectful attitude
• Perform other general duties as assigned

• Mechanical interest or experience an asset
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labour
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required (clean abstract an asset)
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to take initiative
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Team player with strong communication and organizational skills
• Must be adaptable and able to handle shifting priorities
• Cross Department Support and Snow Removal is required from all positions at SMR
