Utility Operator: Water & Sewer Systems

Join our Utility Operations team as a Full-Time Utility Operator, focusing on the city’s water distribution and sewer collection systems. This role is crucial for maintaining public safety and efficiency.

You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of various utility systems, ensuring they function properly to protect homes from water escapement and sewer backups. The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical knowledge, as well as experience in plumbing and electrical systems. A valid B.C. Driver's License is also essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance on water supply and sewer systems

• Assist in installing storm drainage and pumping systems

• Operate vehicles and machinery safely and efficiently

• Report and address potential hazards proactively

• Document maintenance and repair processes accurately

Requirements:

• Experience in plumbing and pipe systems desired

• Valid B.C. Driver's License necessary

• Class II certification in either sector preferred

• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems

• Ability to work outdoors in various conditions
