Salary Range: $62,309 – $130,469 annually
District Induction Program available for teachers with preliminary credentials
- Provide an educational program for students identified by the School Appraisal Team (SAT) as having exceptional needs, while they remain assigned to regular classroom teachers for the majority of the school day.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Supervise an instructional aide and coordinate instructional materials for regular classroom use.
- Serve as chair of all SAT functions (referrals, assessments, placements).
- Coordinate referrals to Educational Assessment Services for students not making adequate progress.
- Maintain a caseload not exceeding twenty‑four students during any period.
- Provide appropriate behavior management strategies and instruction in one‑to‑one, small group, or regular classroom settings as prescribed in the IEP.
- Develop weekly lesson plans and supplementary materials aligned with the district’s curriculum and instructional philosophy.
- Monitor classroom environments for safety and cleanliness, reporting any concerns to the principal.
- Valid California teaching credential:
Education Specialist Instruction (Mild/Moderate or Mild/Moderate Support Needs). - University internship eligibility or credential pending, with a valid RSP Certificate if holding a Learning Handicapped credential.
- Three or more years of full‑time teaching experience.
- Completion or enrollment in an advanced preparation program in special education.
- Experience working with learning handicapped pupils or in remedial teaching techniques, including reading center programs.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict‑resolution, and due‑process knowledge.
