• Teach science courses (general science, earth science, biology, chemistry, or physics) to secondary pupils using demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and laboratory experiments.
• Plan a balanced instructional program that includes demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and student experiments; organize laboratory activities for optimal learning.
• Demonstrate scientific concepts with apparatus, experiments, and instructional aids.
• Provide individual and small‑group instruction to adapt the curriculum to student needs.
• Instruct pupils on proper use, care, and safe handling of chemicals, equipment, and plant and animal life.
• Ensure safe storage and use of materials and equipment; request repairs as needed.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to promote a productive learning environment during class, laboratory, and field‑trip activities.
• Develop interest centers, models, and displays, including books and similar materials, to increase motivation for science learning.
• Evaluate each pupil’s growth in knowledge, skills, and scientific attitudes; prepare progress reports.
• Assist pupils in selecting and developing individual research projects.
• Cooperate with school administration to provide science displays and programs for the school and community, including sponsorship of science fairs, clubs, and contests.
• Develop weekly lesson plans and supplementary materials that align with the district’s instructional philosophy and curriculum.
• Provide students with the opportunity to partake in daily patriotic observance as required by Education Code 52720.
• Monitor classroom environment to ensure clean and safe conditions; notify the principal of any unsafe or unclean conditions.
• Ensure students safely and neatly store materials, supplies, and tools at the end of each class session.

• Valid California Single‑Subject teaching credential in Science (Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Physics), including English Learner Authorization.
• Valid credential must be detailed and non‑expired; copies must include document number, authorization code, description, issue date, and expiration date.

• Copy of transcript (all undergraduate and graduate coursework).
• Credential copy (detailed non‑expired copy from CTC website, credential status letter, or proof of credential application; must post by July 1, 2026).
• English Learner Authorization (if embedded).
• Letter of Introduction.
• Two letters of recommendation—signed and dated within the last 24 months; wet signatures only.
• Resume.
