Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Jr. Accountant / Accounts Receivable specialist to join a manufacturing company in Chino This contract-to-permanent opportunity is well suited for an early-career accounting candidate or applicant who is eager to expand their skills in a manufacturing environment and grow into a broader staff accounting path. The position will support daily receivables activity, invoicing, customer and vendor management and follow-up, and financial record accuracy.rs.

Responsibilities:

- Record and apply incoming payments accurately to customer accounts and maintain organized cash receipt activity each day.

- Prepare and distribute invoices in a timely manner while ensuring billing details are complete and correct.

- Monitor outstanding balances, follow up with customers on past-due accounts, and help reduce aging receivables through clear communication.

- Assist with account maintenance for customers and vendors, keeping records current and resolving routine discrepancies.

- Navigate customer and vendor portals to manage billing, payment status, and account-related documentation.

- Support general accounting tasks such as journal entry preparation, bank reconciliation activities, and maintenance of general ledger accuracy.

- Help manage vendor file updates as needed to support the broader accounting function.

- Learn and use internal accounting tools, including Millenium 3, and adapt quickly to new systems and processes.

Requirements

- Experience or academic background in accounting, finance, or a related field; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.

- Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, cash application, and collections follow-up.

- Familiarity with core accounting functions such as journal entries, bank reconciliations, general ledger support, and accounts receivable.

- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and Outlook for daily communication, tracking, and reporting tasks.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in handling financial information.

- Manufacturing industry experience is preferred, and prior exposure to Millenium 3 is a plus but not required.

- Willingness to learn new software, work within customer portals, and take on responsibilities that can grow into a staff accountant role.
