Role Description

The Safety Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Chino, CA, responsible for overseeing safety practices across construction and utility projects. This position develops, implements, and monitors safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and other regulatory requirements. The Safety Supervisor conducts regular job site inspections, leads safety meetings, and provides training and coaching to field teams on safe work practices, equipment use, and hazard recognition.

Day-to-day responsibilities include investigating incidents and near-misses, maintaining safety documentation and reports, coordinating with management to address risk, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The role also supports pre-job planning, reviews traffic control and work plans for safety considerations, and collaborates with leadership to implement corrective actions and safety initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety and Occupational Health skills, with knowledge of construction and utility work environments.
  • Candidates should possess Safety Training skills, including experience developing and delivering safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training programs.
  • Candidates should possess Safety Engineering skills, with the ability to assess job sites, identify hazards, and recommend practical controls and process improvements.
  • Candidates should possess Accident Investigation skills, including root-cause analysis, incident reporting, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and relevant utility safety standards; certifications such as OSHA 500, OSHA 30, CHST, or equivalent are beneficial.
  • Experience in utility construction, civil infrastructure, or related industries, with the ability to work in the field and interact with crews and supervisors.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence behavior and build a safety-focused culture.
  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites within the region as needed.
