Project Engineer, Operations Manager

Job Summary

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor. This position involves planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling all project functions for small projects. The role also supports and backs up Project Managers on larger HVAC retrofit construction projects.

• Develop and maintain project schedules.
• Create and manage design submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Work with the Quality Control manager to create, review and edit required quality control documents.
• Manage designers, subcontractors and vendors to ensure required design and installation information is provided correctly and on time.
• Review subcontractor and engineering performance and provide feedback to the Project Manager.
• Coordinate purchase of necessary supplies, equipment and services, and maintain inventory control, maintenance and consumable supplies.
• Authorization to review and approve design submittals to ensure compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or business management.
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or building controls.
• Knowledge of submitting written proposals, scopes of work, scheduling, and coordinating site contractors and other personnel; thorough understanding of preventive maintenance schedules and operations; ability to meet demanding customer requirements.
• Strong verbal and listening communication skills and excellent telephone etiquette with a professional friendly demeanor.
• Proven ability to multi-task and handle a high volume of work with extreme accuracy and adjust to changing priorities.
• Ability to anticipate needs and solve job‑related problems independently with appropriate urgency.
• Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license and MVR requirements to operate a company vehicle.

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $105,000 per year.
