Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

A PE-backed manufacturing company with approximately $80M+ in annual revenue is seeking an Interim Controller to provide hands‑on leadership and executional support. The organization recently completed an ERP implementation (Microsoft D365) and is in a period of continued growth, with pending acquisitions and a year‑end audit on the horizon.

This role is heavily execution‑focused and is ideal for a finance leader who remains close to the work, can step into day‑to‑day accounting and finance operations, and prioritize timely, accurate closes. The primary objective is to keep the business running smoothly, maintain financial discipline, and ensure continuity across accounting, cash management, and reporting.

• Accounting & Close (Primary Focus – ~70%)
  • Own and oversee the monthly close process, ensuring books are closed by the 10th business day
  • Provide hands‑on support with journal entries, reconciliations, and review of financial statements
  • Guide and support a homegrown Controller and lean accounting team
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time
  • Oversee core accounting functions including AP, AR, inventory accounting, and job costing
  • Partner with external auditors for a Q1 year‑end audit with a compressed reporting timeline
• Finance, Cash Flow & Working Capital (~30%)
  • Actively manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital in a growth environment
  • Monitor AR trends and support collections discipline
  • Support debt management and lender reporting
  • Review and refine budget and CAPEX planning for FY2026 (largely pre‑built)
  • Provide basic FP&A support, variance analysis, and management reporting
• Manufacturing & Operations
  • Oversee inventory accounting and job costing in a manufacturing environment
  • Support PO‑to‑job revenue and cost tracking
  • Partner with operations and inventory teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy
• ERP & Systems
  • Operate within Microsoft Dynamics 365; support adoption and stabilization post‑implementation
  • Ensure financial processes and reporting are aligned with the new ERP
• Strategic & Transactional Support (Secondary / Nice to Have)
  • Provide oversight and financial integration support for pending acquisitions
  • Support ad‑hoc diligence, modeling, and post‑close integration as needed

Lean corporate accounting team (approximately 6–7 on‑site staff, with offshore AP/AR support). Highly hands‑on culture; leadership team is actively engaged and largely on‑site. PE‑backed environment with growth and operational rigor.

• Controller leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong, hands‑on accounting background with the ability to personally engage in the close
• Experience with inventory and working capital management
• Willingness to commit to a minimum 90‑day engagement
• Comfortable operating in a PE‑backed or fast‑paced growth environment

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Prior interim experience
• Exposure to M&A integration and lender relationships
