Senior Buyer

The Buyer II purchases materials, equipment, and services at the best price and quality for the company. This role works independently, negotiates with suppliers, manages costs, and helps mentor junior team members.

• Procurement: Review purchase requisitions, place orders, track shipments, and expedite delivery dates.
• Vendor Management: Find, evaluate, and qualify new vendors; negotiate prices, contracts, and terms; maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Inventory & Forecasting: Monitor inventory levels and partner with production, engineering, and finance to plan future purchasing needs.
• Problem Solving: Resolve delivery delays, product quality issues, and invoice discrepancies.
• Cost & Performance Analysis: Track supplier performance, analyze market trends, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain accurate purchasing files and ensure all activity follows company policies.

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Business, or related) or equivalent experience, plus 2–5 years in purchasing or supply chain.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing, fabrication, and reading technical drawings or bids.
• Key Strengths: Strong negotiation skills, solid data/market analysis, problem-solving ability, and clear communication.
