Assistant to Director of Operations

Job Overview

We are a small but growing dietary supplement manufacturing facility in Southern California. We are seeking a high-potential Operations Director Assistant to work closely with the Operations Director (and CEO) to support daily factory operations.

This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role designed for someone who wants to deeply understand manufacturing operations and grow into a future Operations Manager / Director
.

• Shadow the Operations Director daily to understand all factory workflows, from order intake to shipment
• Ensure management priorities are clearly and consistently executed by middle management and shop-floor staff
• Track production orders, identify risks or delays, and escalate issues promptly
• Observe, document, and transform leadership instructions into written SOPs and standardized processes
• Support order fulfillment and shipment tracking when leadership bandwidth is limited
• Act as a communication bridge between the Operations Director and factory teams
• Use modern management tools to record, organize, and systematize operational information
• Identify problems proactively and propose practical solutions

Required:

• Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills
• Clear thinking, strong prioritization, and structured reporting ability
• High sense of responsibility, proactive attitude, and emotional stability
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-heavy manufacturing environment
• Bilingual communication skills in English and Chinese (spoken and written)

Preferred:

• Experience in manufacturing, food, or dietary supplements
• Understanding of BOM, inventory control, and production workflows
• If no direct industry experience, must be a fast learner with strong analytical ability
