Job Summary

The Packer operates winders, performs quality checks, packages, palletizes finished product, handles scrap, and assists in scrap reduction while maintaining quality standards.

• Enter one near miss and one observation per month.
• Review production orders and ensure correct packing materials are available at line.
• Remove finished product from winders, place on scales to verify weight, and record weight on work order/continuation sheets.
• Place items in designated cartons according to production order specifications.
• Package product per work order manufacturing notes and any other order instructions, checking accuracy of labels and adherence to product guidelines.
• Apply identification labels on product or skids per work order instructions.
• Maintain a clean work area free of scrap plastic, cardboard, and debris.
• Ensure quality is followed according to work order specifications.
• Assist peers in taking breaks.
• Cut scrap and separate properly.
• Operate equipment in stretch and minimum 5 equipment in custom.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Read and use a tape measure and scales.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; if over 50 lbs, require team lift or mechanical aid (roll lift/forklift).
• Stand for 12 hours.
• Work rotating 12‑hour shift, including holidays and weekends.
• Bend, twist, rotate body at all times.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment.

• Exert 50 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 time) and 35 pounds frequently (more than 1/3 time); requires team lift or mechanical aid if over 50 lbs.
• Stand for 12 hours.
• Work rotating 12‑hour shift.
• Bend, twist, rotate body continuously.
• Reach with hands and arms up to 100% of workday.
• Talk, hear, use arms, walk as required for production machines.

• Outdoors up to 1/3 of time or less.
• Near moving mechanical parts over 2/3 of time.
• High or precarious places up to 1/3 of time.
• Near electrical components up to 1/3 of time.
• Near vibrating equipment/tools up to 1/3 of time.
• Fumes from equipment or airborne particles up to 1/3 of time.
• Toxic or caustic chemicals up to 1/3 of time.
• Extreme heat (non‑weather) up to 1/3 of time.
• Wet or humid conditions up to 1/3 of time.
• Loud environments up to 1/3 of time.

• Take reasonable care for own health and safety.

Starting pay: $18.65 – $21.50 per hour.
