We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Production Safety Specialist based in our Chino, California production facility. The Safety Specialist reports to the Plant Manager and assists in the creation, execution, and upkeep of safety protocols and procedures within the production environment. This is achieved through active presence on the production floor, conducting data and program analyses, providing training, fostering a culture of safety, and overseeing administrative responsibilities associated with safety initiatives.

General Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety and ergonomic programs for production;
  Establish standards, guidelines, and procedures, including creating educational and training materials as needed for CPR, first aid, ammonia awareness etc.
• Partner with management and lead workplace incidents, complete root cause analysis, and recommend prevention measures.
• Liaison with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Team to ensure coordination and conduction of routine annual safety observations/reviews of production programs to ensure equipment and infrastructure are in compliance with all standards and regulations. Document results, recommend corrective action in partnership with EHS, and follow-up until deficiencies are corrected.
• Train associates in safety policies, procedures and regulations.
• Maintains current knowledge of existing safety and health regulations
• Management of programs regarding injury prevention, emergency procedures, and hazard recognition.
• Representative for corporate safety committee meetings and safety conferences.
• Perform other work-related job duties as required.

  5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.;
  It is anticipated that 25 to 50% of the work will be spent working varied night or weekend hours.
• Annual Starting Pay Range is $73,000 to $84,000/ DOE

The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of previous food production and safety experience. (Required)
• Osha familiarity for food production environment.
• Strong critical thinking skills and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced GMP environment.
• Clear communication and coaching skills. Written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
• Cold working conditions - Ability to withstand prolonged work assignments in cold temperatures
• Maintain constant mental focus and constantly be aware of surroundings
