Under close supervision, assembles small parts, capacitors, switches, and related components into cabinets; fabricates various sub-assemblies; and does other work as required. This Position is a temporary position

Works primarily with other assemblers and is responsible for consistently meeting quality and production standards.

May assist sheet metal, grinding, and welding work crews as needed.

Operates a forklift to move pallets and cabinets.

Installs oil switches, copper fuse holders, insulation, mountings, porcelain, links, and louver covers.

Drills and installs plastic fittings.

Verifies correct clearances and hole diameters given blueprints.

Operates an air sander to deburr door handles.

Operates mini-punches, grinders, band saws, impact wrenches, ratchets, and small hand tools.

Makes up small hardware parts.

Cleans and maintains the work area.

Education/

Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

Mathematical Ability:

Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide by 10s and 100s.

Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
