POSITION SUMMARY:
The Mercadoassociatemustprovideexcellentcustomerservice.
Theyensurethatthe Mercadodepartmentis neat, clean, and organized. They restock the shelves when necessary. They ensure the price labels are accurate. They perform cash handling duties and use the AR system.
- Prepares Cash Register and Assignedareatoensureitisreadytoacceptcustomers .
- Recordsamountofsaleon cashregisterandmakes change.
- Obtainscreditauthorizationon Credit Salesasneeded .
- Isresponsibleforalltheproceduresrelatedto Cashieringincludingfullresponsibilityformonies under his/her control.
- Updates customer information as required.
- Inspectsmerchandisepriortobaggingtoseethatitisinsatisfactoryconditionandverifiessalesslip with price tickets on merchandise.
- Dusts,cleansandrestocksmerchandiseshelvesasassigned.
- Setsupadvertisingsignsonpromotionalitemsaswellasanyothersignage thatisrequired.
- Doesprice changesonmerchandiseasneeded.
- Helpscustomersbyansweringanyquestionsontheproductsinthe Mercado area.

- Basiccomputerskillsrequired
- Abilitytoapplycommonsenseunderstandingtocarryoutdetailedbutuninvolvedwrittenororalinstructions.
Abilitytodealwithproblemsinvolvingafewconcretevariablesinstandardized situations. - Candidatemustbeableto add,subtract,multiply,and divide.
- The Mercado associate must be able to speak and understand English and Spanish at a conversational level.
They must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Theymustbeabletoeffectivelypresentinformationinone-on-oneandsmallgroupsituations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
