King Air Captain — Aerial Firefighting

The mission

As a Firefighting Captain, you will lead King Air operations in support of aerial firefighting—executing transport, coordination, and reconnaissance missions. You will navigate challenging terrain and low-level environments, apply disciplined risk management, and deliver safe, on-time performance in high-tempo conditions.

• Serve as Pilot in Command for King Air missions supporting wildfire operations.
• Plan and execute IFR/VFR flights in mountainous and low-level environments with robust risk assessment.
• Operate safely at night and in dynamic conditions while adhering to SOPs and SMS principles.
• Coordinate effectively with air and ground teams using clear radio communications and strong CRM.
• Maintain aircraft readiness, documentation, and personal currency; participate in recurrent training.
• Travel at short notice and self-manage logistics to support mission demands.

• Total time: 1,500 hours
• PIC time: 1,200 hours
• Multi-engine PIC: 200 hours

  • 200 hours PIC in mountainous/low-level terrain < 2,500 ft AGL, per 14 CFR 95.11

Non-Type Rated candidates are welcome—comprehensive aircraft and mission-specific training is provided for qualified pilots.
