Flight Operations Coordinator

Trident Consulting is seeking a Flight Operations Coordinator for one of our clients in Chino, CA (onsite). A global leader in business and technology services.

4/10 Schedule | Tuesday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM (Lunch: 1:00 PM – 1:30 PM)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Flight Operations Coordinator to oversee daily helicopter flight operations, aircraft scheduling, mission planning, and operational support for Aircraft Operations. This role serves as the primary point of contact for pilots, maintenance teams, ground support, and external helicopter vendors while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, flight safety standards, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, monitor, and coordinate daily helicopter flight operations using aviation scheduling systems.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between pilots, maintenance, ground support, and business stakeholders.
  • Analyze aircraft utilization, pilot qualifications, mission requirements, and helicopter patrol eligibility.
  • Coordinate external helicopter contractors based on mission requirements, equipment, availability, and cost.
  • Process flight requests, prioritize missions, and coordinate external load operations.
  • Evaluate weather conditions, Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs), and operational risks to complete flight releases and pilot briefings.
  • Coordinate hangar activities with aircraft schedules and maintenance planning.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and governing agencies when operating in sensitive or restricted airspace.
  • Conduct operational meetings, including Tailboard, Look Ahead, and T&D Sync-Up meetings.
  • Make time-sensitive operational decisions related to weather, emergencies, mechanical issues, and changing mission priorities.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, helicopter vendors, contractors, and external agencies.
  • Analyze meteorological information and utilize web-based aviation software and radio communications.
  • Perform scheduling audits and generate operational reports for helicopter and UAS activities.
  • Support invoice verification, vendor coordination, KPI reporting, safety observations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide Flight Operations training and support Aircraft Operations safety programs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA Certified Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate or Commercial Pilot Certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting helicopter flight operations.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA Regulations (14 CFR Part 91, Part 133, and Part 135).
  • Experience with helicopter scheduling, dispatch, and flight operations coordination.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of aviation communication protocols and professional aviation etiquette.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make critical operational decisions in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with helicopter external load operations.
  • Knowledge of airspace deconfliction.
  • Experience with Power Apps development.
  • Experience supporting utility, aviation, or emergency flight operations.
