Delivery Driver

Overview

Parts Authority is a leading national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools, equipment and transmissions, founded in 1973 and headquartered in Long Island, New York. With more than 300 locations across the United States, we are rapidly expanding and looking for Delivery Drivers to join our team.

The Delivery Driver will pick up and deliver automotive parts while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules. Candidates should be thorough, customer‑focused, and committed to safety.

• Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure completeness and accurate charges.
• Follow directions from the dispatcher, adhere to assigned routes, use navigation apps and alternative routes as necessary.
• Assist with loading and unloading items, coordinating with customers and keeping operations efficient.
• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints professionally.
• Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
• Accept payments, prepare reports, reconcile credit and debt balances, and document all moneys collected.
• Conduct daily maintenance checks on the company delivery vehicle and report issues to the manager.
• Perform any additional store or warehouse duties (e.g., stocking, parts pulling) as assigned.
• Promote workplace safety and secure cash or other assets.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current, valid driver’s license.
• Meet company insurance requirements (drivers must be 21 years of age or older).
• Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy.
• Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds (Auto Body/Parts Collision Drivers must be able to lift 75 lbs).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Manage, track and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credits and debt balances.
• Use a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking, and customer interface/signature capture.
• Exceptional customer and verbal communication skills; communicate professionally, with tact and diplomacy.
• Follow directions and work well with others as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime as needed (preferred).
• Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.
