PositionSummary
The High School World Language Teacher teaches German or French within a Catholic liberal arts framework emphasizing language as a doorway into culture, history, and the human person. Instruction focuses on communication, reading authentic texts, cultural immersion, and appreciation for the traditions of Western civilization.
Reports To:- High School Principal
- Teach high school German or French courses at multiple proficiency levels
- Develop reading, speaking, listening, and writing skills through immersive instruction
- Utilize conversational methods and active student engagement
- Assess student proficiency through performance-based evaluation
- Integrate Catholic worldview and anthropology into classroom discussions when appropriate
- Encourage habits of attentiveness, discipline, and respectful dialogue
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student growth
- Participate in faculty formation and professional development
- Current Wisconsin teaching license is preferred (or eligibility for licensure)
- Experience teaching, preferably in a Catholic or faith-based school setting
- Ability to conduct conversational and immersive language instruction
- Commitment to Catholic education and to fostering the spiritual and academic formation of each child
