Overview
Traffic Safety Instructor Pool
- Adjunct (Part-time) at Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC). CVTC is establishing a pool of qualified candidates to teach Traffic Safety courses (Point Reduction, Group Dynamics, and Multiple Offender). Needs may become available prior to or during each semester.
Adjunct instructors are hired on a per course basis. Courses may be taught face-to-face in classroom, lab, or clinical settings; online; or a combination of online and face-to-face. Instructors are expected to meet with students and/or attend meetings on-site regularly and to live within driving distance of CVTC campuses in Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Menomonie, Neillsville and River Falls, Wisconsin.

Hourly Pay Rate/Salary: $30.00 per hour. Pay rate will be commensurate with qualifications.
Hours per Week: Average instructional hours vary based on assignment, may range from 3 to 8 hours per week.

- Plan for and instruct courses in the area of Traffic Safety.
- Implement relevant and progressive curriculum.
- Deliver high-quality instruction through the planning and implementation of effective learning strategies and environments.
- Create performance-based assessments aligned with competencies through formative and summative measures.
- Promote student success through timely communication, growth-based feedback, and implementation of strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Meet professional expectations by maintaining professional currency and contributing to a collaborative culture across the College.
- Model integrity through self-awareness, personal accountability, ethical behavior, quality standards, and sustainable practices.
- Think critically by applying problem solving practices, acquiring relevant information, using technology and other resources appropriately, and evaluating alternatives.
- Communicate effectively by speaking and writing clearly, concisely, and professionally; practice active listening; read critically and adapt communication for the audience.

QualificationsTraffic Safety Instructor Qualifications for all Traffic Safety Program classes (Point Reduction, Group Dynamics, Multiple Offender):
- Valid driver’s license
- At least 6 months from a conviction resulting in 6 or more points on license
- At least 1 year from an OWI conviction
Traffic Safety Instructor Qualifications for Group Dynamics:
- 2 years of AODA occupational experience and/or group counseling experience
- 45 hours of accredited college-level courses in AODA and/or group counseling
- 2 years of traffic safety occupational experience or traffic safety education experience; or observe a WTCS traffic safety general class and complete 45 hours of traffic safety studies or an accident prevention course
Traffic Safety Instructor Qualifications for Multiple Offender:
- Group Dynamics instructor qualifications
- Teach 3 GD classes or have a bachelor’s degree or higher in guidance counseling, psychology, behavior studies, or social work
Traffic Safety Instructor Qualifications for Point Reduction:
- 2 years of traffic safety occupational experience or traffic safety education experience; or observe a WTCS traffic safety general class and complete 45 hours of traffic safety studies or an accident prevention course
