Position: 12T Technical Engineer

Technical Engineers develop plans that guide construction crews to success. As a Technical Engineer in the Army National Guard, you will learn to build, plan, and repair airstrips, docks, barracks, roads, and other projects.

Responsibilities
  • Draw topographic maps and charts using Computer‑Aided Drafting systems.
  • Conduct geodetic and construction surveys with automated integrated survey instruments and GPS technology.
  • Provide technical support for vertical and horizontal construction projects.
  • Perform technical investigation, surveying, drafting, and develop construction plans and specifications.
  • Draw maps, charts, and scale drawings of roads, airfields, buildings; conduct land surveys; prepare wiring and plumbing diagrams; build scale models; assemble aerial photographs into photomaps.

Earn While You Learn

You will train for 10 weeks of Basic Training and 17 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, combining classroom and field experience. You earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance.

Requirements
  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
