Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Deputy Warden, the major goals of this position include Administration of the Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Programs, including directing and evaluating the programs; supervision, direction, and instruction of (SUD) and Social Work treatment staff; maintaining and updating clinical and administrative procedures; development of appropriate research components; and performance of public relations duties. Weekly hours for this position may vary in response to program needs and standards.

Salary

Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 81-03 with a starting pay of $75608 to $94993. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

Add-on Compensation (AODA/SUD Certification)

Candidates may be eligible for an add-on corresponding to their AODA/SUD certification:

  • Substance Abuse Couns Substance Abuse Counselor – in – Training (SACIT) $1.00 / hour
  • Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) $1.50 / hour
  • Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) $2.00 / hour
  • Clinical Supervisor in Training (CSIT) $3.00 / hour
  • Intermediate Clinical Supervisor (ICS) $3.50 / hour
  • Independent Clinical Supervisor (ICS) $4.00 / hour

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

This position is not eligible for remote work.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:

  • Assessing, performing treatment planning, facilitating evidence-based curricula and counseling clients with Substance Use Disorders.
  • Collecting, reviewing, and analyzing evidence-based program data for quality assurance and policy/procedural change recommendations.
  • Performing supervision or lead worker related activities (e.g. assigning, directing, and/evaluating work; disciplinary matters, completing performance elevations, hiring, providing training/mentoring).
