The Controls Specialist will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems. This role involves collaborating with internal teams, customers, and partners to ensure successful system installations, troubleshooting, and optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in control systems, technical support, and field service, with the ability to assist in product configuration and integration.
What you ll do- Work closely with engineering and design teams to implement and enhance control system features.
- Assist in configuring and programming control systems for new installations and updates.
- Provide technical support to customers and sales teams for pre-sales and post-sales activities.
- Review quotes and sales orders to ensure proper component selection for control system installations.
- Develop and maintain flow programs and configuration documentation for system installations.
- Guide the Field Support Team in building and configuring control panels.
- Provide remote and on-site installation support for newly installed systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose control system issues, identifying root causes of failures.
- Perform remote maintenance, including firmware updates and system optimizations.
- Train internal teams on control system products and best practices.
- Test and validate new product releases and updates to ensure they meet customer requirements.
- Evaluate new control technologies for potential integration into existing products to improve efficiency and customer value.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 years of experience in control systems, automation, or technical support.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI configuration, and control panel design.
- Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing control system issues.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for on-site support and training .
