Custodian - Part Time

This job consists of routine work to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the assigned facility and grounds. An employee in this class, under the supervision of the Maintenance and Custodial Services Coordinator, receives general direction and leadership. Work is evaluated through observation while work is in progress and by inspection of completed assignments.

• 2 years’ experience in cleaning facilities including restrooms and work areas preferred
• Ability to work efficiently following a checklist of daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties
• Ability to use equipment such as mops, floor scrubbers, ladders, lawnmower and snow blower
• Ascribes to Catholic school philosophy

Controller/Facilities Manager and Building Principal

• Maintains regular cleaning schedules including classrooms, restrooms, cafeteria and/or commons
• Keeps work area/maintenance supply rooms clean, organized and presentable
• Maintains buildings and/or grounds in safe, useable condition including light maintenance
• Operates equipment in accordance to safety rules and regulations
• Keeps informed of latest laws, regulations, other developments in maintenance, repair and upkeep of facility
• Performs record keeping functions as necessary to the position as assigned by the Head of Maintenance and Custodial Services
• Maintains inventory of supplies, materials, equipment, and submits orders as assigned by the Maintenance and Custodial Services Coordinator
• Complies with rules and objectives of the school, system, parish when applicable, and Diocese of La Crosse
• Performs all other duties as necessary to the position as specified by the Maintenance and Custodial Services Coordinator and Building Principal
• Utilizes professional development opportunities to stay current on federal, state, and OSHA regulations

• Receives and maintains team training as necessary for responsibilities in asbestos management
• Assures regular maintenance as specified by the Maintenance and Custodial Services Coordinator to maintain the grounds in safe, healthful, workable condition
