Join a team of 5 Certified Nurse Midwives in a busy and growing OB practice. The position offers great team collaboration with flexible scheduling and requires a call rotation.

Provides midwifery care for patients with obstetric and gynecologic needs during labor, delivery, and postpartum. Identifies additional needs for mothers and babies in birthing units. Monitors patients’ condition during pregnancies, including co‑management of high‑risk pregnancies, and performs examinations and procedures. Monitors fetal development by listening to fetal heartbeat, taking external uterine measurements, identifying fetal position, and estimating fetal size and weight.

Maintains and records information in medical records or provides narrative summaries to communicate patient information to other health care providers. Provides guidance to expectant mothers in prenatal self‑care, e.g., nutrition, weight gain, and daily activity levels. Provides prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn, inter‑conceptional, well‑woman, and gynecologic care and education for women and their families. Maintains records of patient conditions and test results within care plans.

May order and interpret diagnostic or laboratory tests as well as prescribe medications as permitted by state regulations.

Master’s degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctorate in Philosophy (PhD) from an approved accredited nursing educational program of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) and American Midwifery Certification Board Medical (AMCB). Holds an unencumbered license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) based on state requirements and certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). Must maintain a current registered nursing (RN) license, APRN CNM licensure where the practice is occurring, and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.

Must work within the legal scope of practice and subject to the state’s legal constraints and regulations for all licenses held. Requires passing certification examination as stipulated by the appropriate state board. Must obtain and maintain a DEA registration number, a valid driver’s license, and relevant departmental competencies and certifications. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
