- Active Wisconsin RN license and Nurse Practitioner certification with prescriptive authority
- Current DEA registration and BLS certification
- Knowledge of advanced nursing theory, pharmacology, diagnostics, and correctional healthcare
- Ability to work independently, manage diverse cases, and respond effectively in emergencies
- Conduct physical exams, assess health status, and establish medical diagnoses
- Prescribe and monitor medications; order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Provide preventive, acute, and chronic illness management to persons in custody
- Maintain accurate medical records in the electronic health system
- Participate in quality improvement, staff training, and patient education programs
