We are seeking a Deli Clerk to join our team in a retail grocery store environment, where you'll play a crucial role in food preparation and guest service.

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide Helpful Service:
    Provide excellent guest service, greeting, answering questions, handling interactions with professionalism.
  • Guest Assistance:
    Help guests locate items and answer deli department phone.
  • Order Fulfillment:
    Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests with attention to detail and quality.
  • Customer Service:
    Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly.
  • Quality Control:
    Inspect, rotate, maintain proper temperatures, and replenish all deli products on display to ensure high standards.
  • Inventory Management:
    Maintain proper inventory levels in deli storage.
  • Food Safety:
    Maintain food safety logs and adhere to all safety standards.
  • Efficiency:
    Ensure all quality standards, including quantity expectations, are met by 10 am and 5 pm daily.
  • Honor Commitments:
    Maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule and give adequate notice for absences.
  • Support the Team:
    Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Requirements include:

  • Customer Focus:
    Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective Problem‑Solving:
    Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a dynamic and stressful environment, while supporting team members.
  • Safety Awareness:
    Understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies, including training on slicers, lifting techniques, trash compactors, and balers.
  • Food Knowledge:
    Knowledge of the retail food business, perishable department operations, and merchandising skills, with the ability to make timely and effective decisions.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Full range of upper body motion.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace.
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures.
Schedule

The Deli Clerk is a position with a flexible work schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

  • Weekly Pay & Premium Pay:
    Hourly associates are paid weekly;
    Part‑time store associates receive a $1 premium per hour on Sundays and select holidays;
    Hourly full‑time store associates receive time and a half on Sundays and select holidays.
  • Two‑Week Advanced Scheduling:
    Schedules are provided two weeks in advance.
  • Vision & Dental Insurance:
    Part‑time and full‑time associates are eligible for vision insurance and two dental coverage options.
