As a Business Account Executive, you will be a solution seller identifying opportunities to leverage TDS’ full complement of solutions and technology offerings, including hosted and premise‑based VoIP solutions, managed services, and web security. You will focus on uncovering customer needs, understanding key business drivers, and delivering compelling TDS solutions that meet prospects’ business needs in a timely manner.

Location

Prospecting territory:
Eau Claire, WI to Menomonie, WI. Daily on‑site field work (door‑knocking and prospecting) Monday‑Friday, reporting to the Eau Claire, WI office.

Day in the Life

Start the day with a brief team meeting to share successes, challenges, and plans. Spend the majority of the time prospecting, developing opportunities, closing and processing sales in Salesforce. Build an activity plan in the CRM and maintain accurate customer status and forecasts.

Compensation

Target earnings: $126,758+ (Base + Commission). $2,000 sign‑on bonus, uncapped monthly commission, 6‑month ramp‑up period with supplemental income, and mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, contact, and build relationships with prospective customers through telephone, in‑person cold calls, networking, and referrals to obtain appointments.
  • Meet or exceed sales growth targets by determining customer needs, communicating TDS’ value proposition, and effectively closing sales.
  • Maintain accurate and timely customer status and forecasts in the CRM system for all prospective sales.
  • Leverage the TDS CRM system to develop prospecting and sales strategies that ensure high activity and effective closing ratios.
  • Write and submit accurate and timely new orders following the established sales process.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of sales experience.
  • 1+ years of cold‑calling experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with insurance and reliable transportation.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing, multi‑system environment.
  • Proven ability to manage a territory using technology, prioritization, and time‑management skills.
  • Track record of success in business‑to‑business sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including persuasive ability demonstrated in interviews and over the phone.
  • Access to a cell phone.
  • Goal‑setting and achievement ability demonstrated by a track record of planning, rewarding, and adjusting strategies to reach objectives.
  • Independent work ability evidenced by problem identification, data gathering, decision making, and implementation.
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, email, Internet).
  • Ability to maintain quota levels.
