Position OverviewWe are seeking a BAS Technician (Level I or Level II) to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of Building Automation Systems (BAS) across commercial and industrial facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable system performance, supporting HVAC controls integration, improving energy efficiency, and maintaining occupant comfort. Level II candidates will take on more advanced diagnostics, programming, and system upgrade responsibilities, and may provide guidance to junior technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, calibrate, and commission BAS hardware and software systems
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system diagnostics
- Troubleshoot BAS faults, alarms, and communication/network issues
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic sequences
- Support HVAC controls integration and system optimization
- Configure BAS network communications and integration protocols
- Assist with system upgrades, modifications, and enhancements
- Maintain accurate documentation of service activities and system changes
- Provide technical support and basic training to facility staff
- Travel to job sites as required
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred for Level II)
- 2+ years of BAS experience (Level I) or 3+ years of BAS experience (Level II)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sensors, actuators, and control sequences
- Experience with BAS communication protocols: BACnet, Modbus, Lon Works
- Hands‑on experience with BAS platforms such as:
Allen‑Bradley PLC, Alerton, Distech, Tridium/Niagara, Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens Desigo, Honeywell, Automated Logic - Proficiency with BAS diagnostic tools and software
- Valid driver's license
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related technical field
- BAS or controls certifications (NATE, BACnet certification, or equivalent)
- Experience with energy management systems and sustainability practices
- Experience supporting system upgrades and network integrations
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Focus on installation, maintenance, and standard troubleshooting
- Works under general supervision
- Advanced diagnostics and system programming
- Supports upgrades and integrations
- May mentor junior technicians
- Greater independence in field operations
