The State of Wisconsin, Department of Military Affairs (DMA) is hiring an Electronics Technician Agency
- Senior. This position is headquartered in Chippewa Falls and will serve buildings located in the northern part of the state.
This position will work four, 10-hour shifts per week, or five, 8-hour shifts. The exact schedule will be determined with the finalist at the time of job offer.
The DMA provides essential, effective, and responsive military and emergency management capability for the citizens of our state and nation. During emergencies, no single organization can handle the response. The DMA consists of several organizations working together to plan, prepare, coordinate, and respond effectively when our communities and neighbors need us the most.

Under the general supervision of the Building/Grounds Superintendent and/or the Building/Grounds Supervisor. This position is entrusted with a high level of responsibilities at various Area 4 locations surrounding Chippewa Falls. This position will perform a variety of tasks at an advanced level, skilled and semi-skilled in nature including occasional tasks at the tradesman level.
This position is responsible for the inspection, diagnostics, maintenance, calibration, installation, adjustment, modification, replacement, repair, and related services of select agency electronic systems, equipment, controls, and associated devices, as required. To include DOC, CO2 safety systems along with fire alarm systems and PA systems. This position will also provide modifications to, and expansion of present electronic systems including wiring schematic plans for controls.
This position will occasionally provide direction, training, instruction, and coordinate the work of other Facility Maintenance personnel regarding maintenance and repair work assignments, and/ or projects, and may be required to function as a lead worker as well. Successful execution of the tasks involved with this position may require the performance of duties under adverse conditions. Possession of the knowledge and ability to safely operate hand and power tools and equipment including lifts, material handling, and various other pieces of equipment is required.
Identify, read, and interpret plans, specifications, schematics, blueprints, etc. of the electrical and electronic equipment and systems associated with this facility. Obtain and maintain the knowledge of current electrical codes governing the work being performed by this position. This position must maintain all applicable certifications necessary to work on the above equipment and systems. The Electronic Technician – Agency – Senior shall comply with all Department and Military administrative rules and agency policies and procedures as well as NFPA and OSHA.
SalaryInformation
Starting pay is between $32.00 and $34.00/ hr.
This position is in the 06-63 pay schedule/range. A 12-month probation will be required.
Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of continued employment.
Must be physically able to lift and move objects in excess of 50 pounds.
Must be able to operate lift equipment and have no limitations for working in high areas.
Must be able to travel on a regular basis throughout the state of Wisconsin with some overnight stays needed.
In order to gain access to DMA facilities or air bases, and to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled, DMA will conduct a comprehensive background check.
