How you’ll spend your time hereYou’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This may be for periods of holiday, sickness, or vacancy gaps. Sometimes you’ll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session.
You’ll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan. That will soon get completely derailed, but pivoting when circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care.
Creativity is key. Teaching young children involves hands‑on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to hold children’s attention. Of course we work within the EYFS standards, but that doesn’t stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.
Qualifications and traitsIdeally hold a Level 2 or above qualification as an Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar. We can consider unqualified educators who demonstrate the necessary values and enthusiasm for working within a child‑care setting.
You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children and were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations.
You have a natural, nurturing, open, warm, and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.
