This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while providing legendary customer service.

As a Team Member, it is essential to be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented. You must be able to fulfill all of the following requirements:

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Support selling initiatives (TEAM):
  • Thank the Customer
  • Engage with the customer and/or pet
  • Advise on products or services
  • Make it Memorable
• Perform a variety of duties during 95% of your day, including operating cash register, merchandise recovery, freight process, merchandising, assembling merchandise, janitorial duties, price changes, assisting customers, caring for live animals, and completing related documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience:

No experience required. Retail experience and/or pet/live animal knowledge is strongly preferred.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Ability to read, write, and count accurately is necessary.

• Pet/live animal, pet food, and pet product knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.

• Indoor environment with moderate noise.
• Work on hard surfaces, with adequate lighting and temperature.
• Shifts generally no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
• Promote a safe and productive work environment and adhere to safety guidelines.

• This position is non-sedentary and requires physical and mental stamina.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Occasionally lift or reach overhead.
• Frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
• Move throughout the store during shifts.
• Safely access all store areas.
• Operate store equipment and complete documentation accurately.
• Transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
