Catering Assistant | St Mary Primary School, Chorley

Lancashire County Council is looking for a Catering Assistant to join the service at St Mary Primary School, Chorley
. The role is permanent, variable hours, part‑time (10 hours per week).

Salary £12.60 per hour (full‑time equivalent). Hours are variable depending on meal uptake; pay is pro‑rata.

Lancashire County Council provides catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving more than 60,000 school meals per day. We are looking for committed individuals to provide high quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children.

• Prepare the dining area for service, including moving and setting up furniture and putting away.
• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages.
• Clean all equipment and catering areas.

• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
• Good customer care skills.
• Previous catering and food preparation experience would be desirable.

Monday to Friday, term time only (10 hours per week, 2 hours per day). Hours are variable.

This position is part‑time; note the quoted salary is full‑time equivalent.
