Job Description and Duties
Under the direct supervision of the Correctional Case Records Manager (CCRM), the Correctional Case Records Supervisor (CCRS) completes the following duties. Supervises, directs, trains, and evaluates the Correctional Case Records Analysts. Develops and reviews various procedures to ensure compliance with Department policies and regulations. Implements and monitors work measurement and corrective action tools. Performs the final review of various release/parole documentation using the Electronic Records Management System (ERMS) and Strategic Offenders Management System (SOMS).
Reviews documents, conducts research, and prepares documentation for complex records casework. Communicates with the courts, legal counsel, Legal Processing Unit, Case Records Administration staff, and the Office of the Attorney General when assistance is needed in reaching a decision. Represents the Institution in court as a Subject Matter Expert pursuant to PC 969b. Responds to first level incarcerated persons (I/P) appeals, interviews I/P, and participates in Haygood Hearings.
Assists in the hiring of Records staff, conducts and participates in meetings and task forces, supervises Case Records Technicians as needed, and acts on behalf of the CCRM during absences.
This job posting is being used to fill two permanent, full-time Correctional Case Records Supervisor positions. Vacancies will be filled in accordance with implemented hiring restrictions.
Position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. After successfully completing a 12-month probationary period for the Correctional Case Records Supervisor classification, a hybrid work schedule may be approved. The remote-centered work schedule will include 3 days in-office work, and 2 days per week telework. Telework eligible applicants must reside in California.
Recruitment and Retention Pay:
The Correctional Case Records Supervisor classification is eligible for annual recruitment and retention pay, which is currently $2,400.
Please Note - This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies if additional positions become available.
You must have taken and passed the examination for the Correctional Case Records Supervisor classification, be a current state employee with lateral transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility to apply.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.
