The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for a German teaching position that is available for the 2025-26 school year at Blacksburg High/Christiansburg High School (split position).

Primary Responsibilities:

To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher's License with the appropriate endorsement to teach German at the high school level

* Have experience in lesson planning and curriculum development

* Have experience and expertise in using technology in education

* Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work

* Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills

* Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families

* Demonstrate the ability to be dependable and punctual

* Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with a team of other teachers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Earned master's degree in German or an earned master's degree in Education to include eighteen graduate semester hours in German

* Experienced or have working familiarity with virtual education

* Experience in teaching creative writing and journalism

* Experience with dual enrollment

SALARY: $52,832.35 - $85,613.64 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience
