PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

ESSENTIAL

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

* Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher's License with appropriate endorsement in area to which assigned

* Possess knowledge of medical aspects of disabilities and their implications for instruction

* Possess knowledge of resources and techniques needed to integrate special education students into the least restrictive environment

* Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials

* Possess ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction

* Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning

* Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework

* Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students

* Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills

* Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families

* Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment

* Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Hold a master's degree in Education

SALARY: $26,416.18 - $42,806.82 annually; commensurate with experience
