The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is accepting applications for high school English teaching positions that may become available within the division for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a continuous recruit posting to build an applicant pool for all schools. As positions become available, all qualified applicants with complete application files will be considered. • To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

Essential qualifications and skills:

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with the appropriate endorsement to teach English at the high school level
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
• Possess ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
• Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
• Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework
• Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
• Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families
• Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
• Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

Preferred qualifications:

• Hold a master’s degree in Education and/or the specific subject area
• Possess endorsement to teach dual enrollment courses

FLSA: Exempt

Salary: $52,832.35 - $85,613.64 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience
