Head of School

Valley Classical School (VCS) -- a classical Christian school in Christiansburg, Virginia -- is accepting applications for the position of Head of School. Successful applicants will join a staff of educators and administrators who are excited about classical Christian education and the training of young hearts and minds. It is expected that the successful candidate will provide cultural, academic, and administrative leadership for staff, students, and families of VCS.

He or she would report to the VCS Board of Directors. Successful candidates must have a four‑year degree as well as a deep love for Jesus, His gospel, and His church; be committed to classical Christian education; and enjoy children. Prior experience in classical education, ministry, or administrative leadership is preferred but not required.

VCS is a classical Christian school that takes a collaborative approach to education. Students attend class on campus with trained teachers two to three days a week, depending on grade, and receive assignments to complete under the instruction of parents (co‑teachers) le VCS students only meet on campus certain days of the week, depending on student grade, the Head of School position is a full‑time position.

VCS values the aim, content, and methods of classical education and has a comprehensive curriculum that is well‑rounded in the liberal arts and sciences. The school is broadly modeled after Trinity Classical School in Houston, Texas. VCS was founded in 2017 and has a current enrollment of approximately 150 students from Pre‑K to 12th grade.
